Sacramento High-Speed Chase Ends in Solano County Crash

SACRAMENTO, CA - A Sacramento County burglary suspect faces a laundry list of additional charges after leading Sacramento County and CHP officers on a high-speed chase Tuesday that ended near Vacaville, according to authorities.

The pursuit began around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday after deputies attempted to stop a suspect in a residential burglary in Sacramento County, a CHP spokesperson said.

The suspect took off, turning on to westbound Interstate 80 and reaching speeds of over 100 miles an hour . After leading authorities through Sacramento, Yolo and Solano counties, the chase ended near to I-80-505 connector on the eastern outskirts of Vacaville when the driver attempted to swerve around a tack strip and skidded down an embankment.

The driver was taken into custody. His name was not immediately released.



There were no early reports of any injuries in connection with the pursuit.
